Dave Isaac's Tips for Widening Tracks with UAD Powered Plug-Ins
For more than 20 years, three-time GRAMMY® Award-winning producer and mix engineer Dave Isaac has been a constant force in the music, television, and film industries.
A multi-instrumentalist in his own right, Dave has applied his musical knowledge, programming skills, and engineering prowess to critically acclaimed projects spanning many musical genres. Marcus Miller, Luther Vandross, and Eric Clapton are but a few big names on a much bigger list of credits.
It was a great pleasure for UA when Mr. Isaac opened his doors to our video crew and shared with us a few of his special tips using UAD Powered Plug-Ins for widening tracks. In the accompanying video, Dave demonstrates how to use the EP-34 Tape Echo plug-in with the Precision Enhancer Hz and Precision Enhancer kHz to bring out a Rhodes track, how to add even more width to a pad sound using the Roland Dimension D, and finally, how to enhance the width and clarity of a shredding guitar track using the SPL Transient Designer, 1176SE, and EMT 140 Plate Reverb plug-ins.
