The Volt 2 with Luna
I recently purchased the Vol 2 . Two friends of mine that also do home recording had the Apollo Set up and were raving about it. I went online and looked at dozens of videos regarding the UA line and wound up buying The Pultec series of three plugins and The Capitol Chambers Reverb both of which I loved . I then downloaded Luna and I did like the interface. At the time I was in the middle of a project and had to finish it in Cakewalk because of it's familiarity but with every intention of learning more about Luna. When I got further into the DAW I found it to be friendly with a fairly simple learning curve but am still learning. I did hear an audible difference in the DAWS with Luna being a more modern sound to me, I guess you could say , with the difference being more air and compression on the tracks whereas Cakewalk had a more analog sound with it's added mid boost (This is to my ears with my equipment, of course). I did have some trouble with pops and clicks so I decided to pich up a Volt 2 because I figured it would be more compatible with the Luna daw. The Volt is very well done. Well made, very nice clear sound and although I had already purchased some of the software that came with it there were other kinds of software the came in that I didn't have. I followed the directions and although it did take a bit of time getting everything in it went smoothly and was up and running in about a half hour. I liked , very much, what I head through the Volt 2. What was a problem was the unreal popping and cracking that was taking place while recording. I tried all different modes of buffering etc. but nothing worked, in fact it made it worse. Now I am like a lot of people when it comes to problems with recording. I will stick with that problem until it is either fixed or one of us dies. It took me over a day to find a solution but I found a great video on line that described going into your computer and lowering the power from 100 to 99. I am no computer geek but that seemed to be a very strange solution but stranger still is that it worked. Now I know it could be my PC and Windows 10 and all but I have plenty of ram and it's 5 core and meets the criteria so I am not complaining and that has little or nothing to do with the Volt. I love it and I love the sound it produces. The result of all this is that Luna is working but I can't push it. It definitely helps to put your CPU heavy plugins into a bus and use that bus for several tracks. For instance, I have the Capitol Chambers Reverb on its own bus and all the vocal tracks and the Flat-Top guitars are sent to that bus for their reverb. Bottom Line is that the Volt 2 is definitely an improvement to my home studio...a Great Product

So far, my new UAD Volt 2 has been working great.
Prior to ordering my new UAD Volt 2 online from my local JB HiFi store, I had been using audio interfaces manufactured by Focusrite, a Saffire Pro 40 and two Scarlett 2i2, all three of them had been giving me tech problems ever since I had bought them, so, I thought that I would try an audio interface from a different manufacturer, so glad I did because so far my experience with my new UAD Volt 2 has been a really good one, the Volt 2 has been working perfectly ever since I started using it with my new Acer Nitro V 16 gaming laptop, I had practically zero-issues getting the driver installed after installing the UAD Connect app, fortunately I already had an existing account with iLok so that was no biggie, I'm not sure why some users have had issues trying to get their Volt 2 working in Windows 11, and with computers using AMD CPUs/Hardware, my new Acer Nitro V 16 gaming laptop uses an AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS 8-Core CPU, the laptop is running Windows 11 23H2, I've got my sample rate/buffer set as follows 48,000/128 and I'm getting 3ms latency in FL Studio 2024, which is barely even perceptible, my new Acer laptop seems to be handling it really well, so I'm very happy with the performance I'm getting, as far as I can tell with my ears there's practically zero-noise, audio is crystal clear, I've got the Volt 2's main monitor line-outs connected to the line-ins of an OTL (Output Transformerless) Tube Headphone Amplifier I built myself, and I have my Audio Technica ATH-M50X plugged into the OTL Headphone Amplifier, sounds wonderful, so far performance has been rock-solid with none of the issues I've experienced with my old Saffire Pro 40 or the two Scarlett 212s, I can highly recommend checking out the UAD Volt 2, so happy with my experience that I've decided to stay with UAD for the rest of my career as a musician/producer so UAD have my continued patronage, I'm done with Focusrite.

It have quick pauses
When I use this on my MacBook Pro running Ventura it keeps having annoying cracks and quick pauses for like a second or 2 second and it’s annoying I’ve done everything I can but it still happens I’ll just have to sadly return it

Poor manufacture
I bought a Volt 2 without asking, as I have always trusted UA. I therefore had no detailed knowledge of its specifications. I was a bit disappointed that it didn't have DSPs, as I own a lot of UAD plugins, but it was enough for me that it was light, had two inputs and was portable. The MIDI input was also a great feat. OK, but why am I talking in the past tense? Because, sadly, this piece of hardware has revealed itself of very poor manufacture.
I used it a few times at home mostly to try it out and only once outside for a theater show where I was doing some sound design. Back home I put the card back in the drawer as I normally use an Apollo. Today I wanted to try it out to see if everything's OK as I have another show tomorrow but it did not power on.
Next thing I know, I try to contact support and fall prey to the automated bot, which not only doesn't know how to help me but also repeats the same questions over and over again, like a broken record. Of course, I have more interesting things to do than converse with a stupid bot.
UA, if there is any human out there, help!

Volt 2 / SD7
Absolutely brilliant. The quality I've been wanting for years and to find it at a very affordable price just makes the whole thing superb. I'm having issues with the plugins not wanting to render but I'm thinking it's an ilok issue. If it isn't, I know I can call on the team for help.

Sounds Awesome!
Very clear and worth the upgrade!

Loved it
It's a good interface. There is a bit of noise but it's not that drastic for a home studio.

Solved a long standing nightmare for me!
Since I already have an Apollo Twin USB as my main interface, I'm using the Volt 2 in a very unusual way. It is now serving as my default "soundcard". I like to keep my system sounds separate from my audio interface. The problem with my built-in soundcard was that it was NOISY. I'm not talking about noise floor. I mean that it was picking up dreadful noises as well as super fun whizzes and whirls when I moved my mouse! I would actually mute the output of that card on my monitor controller when I could. It was driving me insane! I even bought a fancy ground lift device from Rane. It didn't help. It wasn't a ground issue. Just a noisy-a$$ motherboard soundcard!
My life is grand now. My DAW runs solely from my Apollo, and everything else is outputted through the Volt 2... IN SILENCE. Now for the bad...
Installing this driver is WAY more difficult than it should be. Just put the driver out there UA! Some of us want to use this interface to simply capture sound on a laptop, for example. I'm not gonna mix there. I don't need Spark, etc. on every machine. Rant over.

I love My Volt 2
I replaced my Focusrite with a Volt 2. I love my Volt! The only drawback is it has only 1 headphone out. I am used to 2. I

Solid Unit!
I had a Sc**let Solo and needed the extra balanced input. Running a split mono guitar rig. The VOLT 2 is great value and it was a super simple setup in Studio ONE and I am up and running in no time. Platform: Windows 11 PC. AMD R5, 32GB RAM, 2TB SSD. M2 , NVidia 1050 Ti.

Excellent choice
VOLT 2 is an excellent sound card. Vintage mod works great. The added package of plug-ins made the choice clear. I am extremely satisfied.

awesome device
Excellent card because there is love in the sound. Most cards don't have this love. You can only find it in UA stuff! Thx UA! VOLT2 RULES! SWAG PLEASE!

Ya sure
The volt 2 works fine but I use it on amplitude and over loud. The plugins were hard for me to set up and use especially with that ilok crap. So the licence part went through but by the time I almost figured I out how to use the plugins they were expired. The instruction videos were useless. the instructions on how to set it up only deals with each individual part .There was nothing I could find that puts the u.a download, the plugins from softube, and ableton all together so that people like myself (entry level at the best) can get everything configured correctly and actually try the trial plugins before the ilok crap shuts them down . Never again . And I bet this review doesn’t even get out there

Leaders in recording
Since I have been recording music I have always been a fan of UA’s top notch equipment. My Apollo was hands down the best audio interface I’ve ever used. I went through tough times and had to part ways with it unfortunately. Lucky for me UA had a great Black Friday deal which I got a still amazing sounding volt 2 free with my purchase of an amazing plug in package. I can finally record again and I am forever grateful for UA.

Volt 2
After having problems with a previous interface after a failed firmware upgrade which the company has taken no responsibility for, I was directed to the Volt 2 by a salesman in a music shop. It has been easy to setup and has performed very well. A solid sounding machine that is well built and very fit for purpose. Very pleased.
