Simply amazing
It just adds so much to any instrument, I find myself using it on almost anything. Just dial the noise/hiss down a little so it won't add up that much and crank that input up to get all that tape goodness into your recordings! Absolutely a must have.

ATR-102 on the 2 bus!
I am using the Ampex plug as my go to for the output bus, for the particular vintage sound it is very flexible towards that end..and very sweet on the 30 ips for strings. A+

I have no idea how, but this can beef up basses, clear up high end, enhance the 3d space, give synths some nice analog drift, push masters further up... the list goes on and on and on... The ability to directly control the noise is really handy.

Amazing!!! This is by far the best Tape plugin available for individual channels in a mix. Although I'd bet it can impress on the mix/master buss as well. So much power, fatness, and clarity with a nice choice of options! For me using the Studer 800 on individual mix channels and then the ATR 102 in the mastering chain wins everytime.

Found my glue
The best UAD plugin I purchased so far, and I haven't even learned how to tweak it yet. What it does is subtle but I blind tested myself several times and I found this thing making everything sound better every time, using default settings.

You've done it!
Subtleties are key to what make these plugins so useable. Most other tape emulators exaggerate the effects of tapes whereas these are so beautifully modelled, by the time you've finished a mix and have run most things through the the A800 they add up with warmth that sounds realistic and natural. the ATR can be beast on the stereo bus, or once again, a subtle glue that gives a mix cohesiveness. An essential couple of plugins for anyone from the pros, to an aspiring hobbyist wanting to really extend their mixing capabilities into industry standard realm of excellence.
