One of many colors and purposes
I hesitated a while but what made the final decision to buy this plug-in is the bottom end of the sub frequencies. It does nog have al lot of color but it does if you get me.. It’s between the Maselec and the Manley just another useful tool to handle specific frequencies for different genres by the needs of the moment.

Does what you need it to do
Been using it for some Masters recently. The Mid/Side capabilities are really useful, especially the volume balance knobs. Quick for readjusting a mix and creating width. The EQ has a very subtle sound which is awesome, not at all harsh.

I was using this until I found Acustica Audio has a free version.. to me which sounded better and more full.

This just changed my whole master buss energy. it lets you define your mix and instantly brings life accross the whole project. I just copped it yesterday and put it on 3 different projects that were good but needed that extra something to make it "POP". The BAX eq gave me that.

I dont mix without it. Once you have it, its impossible to not include it in every project in some way. UA clearly has some of the best plugins available. I had always wanted this one, but what sealed the deal was listening to Tychos album Epoch, the highs are simply butter. If you're on the fence about it, I say go for it, it will definitely enhance whatever you're working on.

Great for that last bit of polish to the mix!
Great for minor low and high end tweaks. Very smooth sounding, also does not appear to colour the sound. In some cases preferable to the Manley Massive Passive.

Very subtle...
Very great sounding EQ that I use on vast majority of my master mixes. Cleans up the mix...I use this along with Maag EQ. HIGH quality EQ. Good job as always, UA.

Using it on almost anything
I don't know the hardware, but i do now this plugin. Somebody wrote 1 star review and i don't understand why. Cause it's a great plugin. Good for the low and high end. Smooth and clear. Just try the demo!

principalement utilisé en master, tout devient plus moelleux! les graves sont vraiment superbe, on peux ajouter de l'air sans agressivité , j’hésite encore, le porte monnaie a des limites, mais c'est pas l'envie qui manque !!

Nice EQ!
It's different and more clean than the Massive or Pultec. The BAX has it's place in certain songs for sure, but my gotos are still Massive, Pultec and my all-time favorite Harrison!

Great for tops and tails
I love using this on the busses to help tighten up the low end and bring some clarity to the top end. Definitely recommend it.

Demo Sold Me...
First thought, was like many.. "do I REALLY need another EQ?" So like the rest, I demo'ed it. Now it's on nearly every channel in my sessions.
What's great is how minimally it taxes the DSP load of my UAD-2 cards. I don't have to worry (unlike say, the Massive Passive) where I throw it and how many I instantiate. Hence the cause for it to end up on nearly everything while I'm working.
I hate the term "Musical", but that's really it here, even extreme settings feel pretty nice. M/S mode is also brilliant. Finding BAX to be great on mastering chains, esp. the low shelf, which is great to nip off the infrasonic range.
Dunno why folks hate on Brainworx, but then again, there's always complainers. This good stuff in my humble opinion

Amazing plugin
I ran the demo and compared quick with my settings in my mix-setup with the manley and tubetech master eqs.. I don't feel like i miss somehting big without it. The BAX has a different colour then all the other plugins and sounds really good for low and hi frequencies. I don't have the real one, i never test it. But i've heard the summing units from Dangerous so i know what to expect from the brand. Another great job from the UAD Clan !
