Can live without it
I've tried many other solutions but LA 2A is the best solution to level voices and many other instruments without killing the sound. 1176 is the perfect color I need to craft any voice in my mix. Must have.

I love it when a bundle have different tools inside it, and this is a perfect bundle for mixing! I loved every legacy ones of these plug-ins and I finally got them! Not disappointed as expected.

Essential upgrade.
This is worth it even if just for the 1176’s. The LA2As are also essential and the Fairchild is great to have. Haven’t spent much time w the Pultecs but I’m guessing they probably sound pretty good! (-:

Fairchild is not a plug-in, it's a time machine, transporting me back to the bygone days of classic recording. A visceral experience (are you experienced?) that cuts through the mix like a hot knife through a hurricane. Beam me up, Scotty!

Great Sound!
I've never worked with the hardware version so I can't compare the two. But what I do know is this plug-in sounds great! I wouldn't drive too hard with these though, because the distortion starts to get a bit wild when you push it hard and doesn't quite sound like a tube, but when used lightly it does the trick. Also, the eq is very simple, yet very musical. Sounds fantastic.

So much heat without the heat
It’s insane being able to throw 10 1176’s of different colors all over a session but the biggest plus in my world is if one version isn’t doing quite the right “thing” I can just grab another version and swap them out in seconds.
Stereo Parallel comps of 1176, Distressor, Fairchild and LA2A on vocal group? Done! $30k of hardware? Nope!

1176LN is outstanding for Vocals compression
I carefully compared it against many other compressors and every single one of Logic Pro’s factory compressors, and the 1176LN is the best.

Finally!
I've wanted this compressor plugin since I first purchased my Apollo! It was finally available on sale, and I had plenty of coupons. I used the actual compressor in college, and it was smooth like butter, so having this as a plugin is music to my ears! Hopefully, I'll be able to purchase the actual LA2A one day, but until that magical, mystical day, I'll settle for this! Outstanding job Universal Audio!

Great pre-amp and EQ! I've been using my LA-610 for years and this software re-creation blows me away how EXACT it is when sounding like the real thing! Love recording into this thing and now that I have the Plug in, I am not limited by just my 1 piece of hardware. Great front end for almost any mic!!!
