Makes the alphabet begin at F, Fairchild is so useful on individual tracks, and Magic on the stereo buss!
No wonder it was so highly acclaimed in the studio, love the new features as well - the M/S add is so easy to dial in, the compression, and a low cpu .... the TONE and space it adds really make it a MUST HAVE! 10/10.

I find that the 610's both have their place, and they can both add a great element of analog preamp in their own ways.

Yes it is worth the cost of upgrading
If anyone still is using the 'legacy' version of these plugins, believe me, the upgrades are spectacular. You can push the new LA-2As and 1176s to extremes and there is not a trace of distortion. Try that with the legacy 1176, push enough bass or kick through it and try flatten it, it will distort at extreme settings. But I can't get the new 1176s to distort - it's as close to hardware as I've ever heard - not a trace of distortion. Same as the new LA-2As. And there is a solidness to the bottom end that wasn't there before.
The other plugs in this package, I can't really comment on, but I've been using the 1176/LA2a since 2004 and I know how they respond. The upgrade is definitely worth it.

Overdrive without artifacts
Constantly looking at preamps to overdrive them. This does it without digital artifacts the best of any plug in.

Worth investment
These Pultec EQs are from heaven. Just placing one on your mix buss with default settings (i.e. no boost/gain) and the track takes off nicely already. Tweak a little to taste on low/high end and you won't believe how much the track comes to life.
The 610 adds a really lovely tube warmth to guitars as far as I tried so far.
Of course all of the flavours of 1176s, LA2As, Fairchild, you can't get enough of them. Cheers to UA

If you want your kick drum to crush your skull, or gentle sheen on your mix bus this is the EQ you need. Used on individual tracks or subgroups, you can't go wrong. From subtle to in your face, no other EQ does what a Pultec can.
