Holy smokes!!! Looking for that vintage edge? It's clean, crisp and mixes well on everything. Set a few of these up with a 1176 blue stripe, pultecs, EMT 140 plate and a Fairchild on your master buss and your getting closer to The Doors sound. Only your imagination can stop you.

Best 1176 Emulation out there!
Tested these extensively against other emulations of this classic compressor and UAD blows the rest away. I've never been fortunate to own the hardware model so can't say if it matches to the real thing but I can say it sounds absolutely mind blowing! My only criticism is that it it's quite DSP hungry.

not my go-to, but still handy to have in the toolbox
i use this plug on more subtle instruments & voc. i would reach for the LA-2 or the 1176 most of the time, before i use the Fairchild, but still has it's place.

hard to say which plugin is the "best purchase" but this is def top-5 for me. i use it on almost all instruments. very pleased

Fairchild Collection: So far so good!!!
This comp sounds great, but I admit it's not one of those units you master in a day. Need to really spend some time with time constants. That switch makes a huge difference in what the comp is doing.

Universal Vs.Universal Plug
Well I don't own the Hardward To A/B, But I find it Interesting that Universal Audio Has got Great Reviews on Creating Plug Ins that can Create Plugins of Most sought after Hardware , companies even allow them to use their name to represent their product and then I see several Commentators criticize UA of not Bringing a More accurate represention of their own Hardware...Eitherway I Love all of UAs Software and use them with confidence...

Es quiza el compresor mas utilizado en hardware hoy en dia , un clasico . de este pluggin de uad me gusta su tratamiento al comprimir las señales , siento que no es un proceso tan "lineal" como en otros compresores que haya probado, el color y la pegada que aporta son unicos . su combinacion con un LA2A en serie siempre funciona . es sin duda una de las compras mas acertadas que puedes hacer en este sitio.
