Musical compressors
I'm really happy with these compressors, they are very musical. The AE version is a nice bonus with its 2:1 ratio setting for a more subtle character.

actually flexible
Between the 3, you have a lot of options. If you want to keep it fast, keep the gain reduction low.
You can also use LA3A beforehand it it gets pushed back too far.

If it's old and crappy, UAD will model it. Christ the lexicon pcm 70 was more desirable
back in the day for a quarter of the price. ( Kurt Cobain, David Gilmour ). Dig deep into your wallets and be impressed by the name. It's still a lexicon and it will cover your ass,
even if you can't play guitar.

again and again these guys churn out the most musical and true to life plugins in the business. these pultecs are no exception. in an unexpected turn of events, i find myself using the mid frequency module a lot. the biggie and hi/lo cut units are amazing too!

My Go-To Tool
The Studer A800 Plugin is simply amazing with plenty of useful presets. I use this on almost all of my tracks because I love the character the tape brings once the track hits it. It is very user friendly and more visually pleasent than any others I have seen!

Great variety of tape sounds!
I love experimenting with the various tape formulations, speeds and monitoring choices. Really warms up my bass, drum and vocal tracks!
The only mild bummer really has nothing to do with the plugin itself.. I first learned to record using tape, and the Studer plugin kinda makes me miss the whole deliberate-ness of committing performances to tape.. see what you guys did? :-)

Perfect! Best 1176 Plugins out there!
This 1176 collection is wonderful. They sound superb. I can't truly compare to actual hardware revisions because I don't own one as for now, but with this bundle I don't think I need one. I feel these ones are slightly better than CLA 1176, I actually compared them side by side and I preferred UAD version because it has more character and a bit more umph to it. Rev A is my favorite one on lead vocals and even drum bus.

Im tracking drums real type with the API legacy plug in....and its a killer!..I get the great API color on my "Online session" plus all the other features ( eq, filter, gate, compressor) .....now Im just started "demoing" the Neve 1073 and of course I going for it , will be broke soon if u still real sing this AWESOME stuff :) ....Unison technology is here, and its gonna change the future .
