Mid-range harmonics and saturation
This is one of the most fun UAD plugins for tracking vocals through UNISON and usage in parallel on bass and drums. The harmonic non-linear distortion adds great mid-range vibe. It's a ressource hog, but you know what you spend your chip power for.

The best warm preamp to my ears
This strip is the best after comparing all of them it offers a nice warm sound while keeping its 3d quality, the eq is just delicious if i may say so, I remember using eq and always frustrated that you boost a little and the sound turns painful, not with this, every touch of eq you do just sounds great and depending on the frequency it brings part of your sound to the front while keeping everything glued and organic, it just fantastic! I love it!

Color, weight, quality!
A wonderful and colorful addition to the unisonpreamps. Its not only changing the tone, it is changing the quality of the sound! Everyone should try it while tracking. Usually using it for vocals and drums. It really takes your tracks to the next level.
And for mixing purpose - the eq is stunning. Using it often as a snare top EQ. Have the feeling that the transients are getting tighter by using it... Great virtual Gear!

Ahhh Neve...
I used to own an 8801 rack mount unit that was my go to for guitar tracking. A musical compressor and that magic something in the high end EQ - the Neve 88RS plugin has that same magic.

Neve 88RS is my go too Plugin
Provides an amazing Airy sound. I use the 88RS a lot because it sounds amazing and it provides a gate and a compressor all in one EQ. It has a very natural sound that is a lot more forgiving than the SSL. The full version sounds a lot better than the Legacy version, but it takes up a lot of DSP. You will need an Octo if you want to use it a lot.

Great channel strip a must have in the tool box. These new Unison plug ins are sounding awesome!! I love to run things out of the box and hit the Unison plug ins on the return, I find that sound even better when hitting the input hot. Keep em coming like this please!

I also find the video unfair. We all know how level mismatch, even the slightest, will make the loudest stand out as the best. No wonder most dynamics plug-ins will raise the output level. It sells.
I just did a quick test between the Scheps and IK Multimedia EQ 73. Same story. At default settings on both, everything at Off/Zero, the latter is typically 1dB louder on the material I tested with (vocals). So just by engaging the IK EQ73 you get 1dB of RMS gain. Then, when I start twisting, the difference becomes 1-2dB. I know I can't compare the two like that, but at ANY setting the IK EQ73 is louder. That's gotta say something...
Back to the video and the UAD Neve 1073. Okay, it's louder than the Scheps, but surely that doesn't account for all the difference, does it? To me it sounds like the UAD add an insane amount of... crosstalk(?). I mean, it changes the whole stereo image. But maybe once again, I'm fooled by the increase in output level...

Love this thing
I got this plugin to have a good vox strip. I like the sound but it's kinda hard to dial in custom setttings since I'm not used to it. I wish they had more tuts on how to get the best out of it, because I know it'll be great once I learn how to used it better. If anyone wants to offer some advice on it, that'd be cool! This is a powerful channelstrip that works just fine with the unison technology.
Really all you must have on many channels.
It sound really musical, easy to achieve the sound you´re looking for. Don´t know what else to say. Well done UA

Does Magic to every track
I'm so blown away with the Neve 1073 plugin. The warm and color it adds to a track is outstanding. Use it on a snare drum or in a buss it gives that grit and analog kick to any track. Inspite of it's power hungry traits it is still a good plugin and it forces you to be creative when it comes to managing your resources.
