1073に比べて倍音の感じが少し違いますね。
高域に少し張りがあるように感じます。
イコライザーを使わないならこちらの方が本数刺さるので、多めのトラックにNeve感を出すにはよいと思います。

nice to have a simplified version when i don't need the full 1073 eq.
does what i need it to do, when i want a little neve vibe without all the eq bells & whistles.

Very Good, And Less Maintenance Than The Real Thing
The 1081 is a very good sounding EQ!
So useful for just about anything non surgical.
Drums, guitars, vocals, piano, adding a bit of air, strings.
The 15k shelf has always been one of my favorite things, and the 56Hz bell on a kick is meaty.
Doesn't seem to quite have the balls of the hardware, although the switches don't crackle or drop out as you move them.

Super versatile, easy on CPU and great sounding.

Good to use in more subtle to moderate amounts with right input level fed into it. Warms up the signal well with some smooth coloring. Starts sounding a little harsh when pushed. Overall, good plug in.

This is the only plugin developer I am aware of that also posts revealing shootouts.

Sounds Great!
This is my goto plugin when looking to EQ. Always love that Neve EQ sound and this nails it. Use it exclusively on my guitar tracks!
The combination of a Burl B1 during recording and the Neve 1073 during mixing, guitars shred through the mix!

Adds weight
Practical, DSP efficient way of adding weight and color. Try it across all tracks, or at least all busses to add heft to a mix, especially on soft synths or anything else that needs a push.

Top alternative zum großen Bruder
Wenn man nicht so eine große Menge Dsp hat ist dieser Preamp eine gute Alternative zum großen Bruder.
Liegt bei mir auf Sub Gruppen, dem 2Bus oder wird gezielt zum anzerren einzelner Quellen benutzt. Feiern wir sehr!!

we need better user interfaces for channelstrips
It sounds great but I don't like the GUI, I understand it is a emulation but why not use the benefits of a computer. So emulate the sound and make the best user interface possible. Now it sounds great but you still have to tweak some knobs with a mouse...

Waited a while for something like this!
I bought it without testing it but I figured it should be good especially since i really like the newer offerings as per the new SSl buss compressor.
I really like this plugin because it is simple and adds something I like.
I have had it for two days and have only used it in a dub of a new song and it is great!
I hope UA releases other stripped down pre's that I can use on channels without chewing up massive amounts of limited dsp.

IMPRESSIVE WARM SOUND
I must say i'm impressed, great headroom, smooth timbre, very musical and easy to use eq. Everything i have recorded through this device (synths, bass, vocals, etc.) sounds so pro in my home studio!
unfortunately i bought my Apollo quad when there was no satellite coming with it at the same price and 1073 sucks up a lot of dsp resources..
I'm a live engineer and it would be great having such a brilliant technology as the Unison preamps and UAD plugs into live mixing consoles, i would have so much fun!

It is what it is.
This plugin its just extremely great! but it takes a lottt of your DSP ( a lot ). But its very worthless, and expensive too. Its just what you need if you want that NEVE sound and you cant afford a neve preamp jet. I use it with a U87 and works flawless. The bad thing is i bougth it on SALE in 200$ and now its on SALE in 99$. :o
