Apollo-workflow through space
As soon as all obstacles surrounding the console of UA was underneath my command I simple enjoyed the fact that Pro Tools combine with the UA Interface and console and aswell an RME Interface was floating at cero latency and with no issues - no cracks and hums. The plugin sounded great at a first glance and i was just pleasant to be a new member of the UA clan. Thanks alot!!!

Overall I am very satisfied with the product.
The headphone mix always needs to be turned up pretty high in order to have a proper level and I wish there were a few more virtual channels to be more flexible with the monitor sound. One RCA input would be nice.

Best Interface Ever
If you're wondering what the Apollo will do for you let me tell you what it's done for me. It's restored my faith in myself as an engineer.
I'm running Pro Tools 10 on a Mac. Prior to the Apollo I used Digidesign and Presonus interfaces. I have often wondered why tracks I received from other studios sounded better than mine - not needing as much manipulation to sound good. Now I know - it's the converters. Plug-ins aside, if you're coming from gear like mine your work will sound better right away with the Apollo.
Now the plugins: Simply the best. And no latency whatsoever! The LA2A is light years better than any other emulation I've used. And the EMT reverb is to die for.
Wholeheartedly recommended, without reservation.

Great Unit You Would Love!
Hardware wise I have no problems with. The only issues I have had are having one if the inputs shut off on me while no apparent reason. Say signal that goes into IN4/5 stops working on one of them until restarted. I use the Apollo Duo and a UAD-2 Quad so sometimes partially plugins would lock out and ask for authorizations until restarted. I believe this bug happens because of a conflict between the two units. I still wish the software was better written since it has limitations so widely described in these reviews such as limited routing, levelling and such. Plugins work like a dream and the latency is very low. Im not sure if its due to my PCIe Quad or not, but it feels like PCIe speed to me. Couldnt locate the console under Windows Vista

The last two stars UA could get with an update
As often read... there are many good reasons to work with this Interface.
BUT two things annoy me every day. If UA could solve this with updates the Apollo would be perfect.
First problem: even with the (expensive) Thunderbolt card installed, the audio I/O speed is same as FireWire already offers. When I bought the Apollo UA told the press that you can get PCIe speeds with this interface. It was not true... but this was my main reason to buy the Apollo. The TB option card brings more speed only to the UAD PlugIn section.
Second problem: the "UA mixer engine" is' extremely CPU hungry. It is still in 32bit... maybe Mac OS has problems translating it to the 64bit OS at the system level.
Please solve this via update!!! If you do so: 5 stars

Apollo Quad (Awsome Resolution)
Beeing a Recording Engineer for almost a decade using all types of interfaces, this is where i just stoped!, The quality that i was looking for i found in the Apollo Quad, my goal as an engineer is to capture a neutral, Clear open sound that i can color it with these breath taking sounding UAD Plug-ins it's just amazing, I Rate this Gear 10 out of 10 beyond any doubt, Universal Audio Great Job for this one! Cheers!

Excellent Audio Interface/Platform
Upgraded my home studio setup to an Apollo Duo and Dangerous D-box for the hybrid setup. The Apollo hardware unit is solid, looks and works great. The UAD processing and plugins sound excellent.
The only reason I gave the unit 4 stars is because using the Console application can be quite confusing and there isn't easily accessible detailed information on how to use the Console with a DAW (in my case Pro Tools). I ran into a problem of thinking I had a defective unit because sound wasn't coming out of line output 1-2. With the help of my Sweetwater rep, we figured out it was a setting in the Console that prevent sound from coming out of that output. So my Apollo unit is perfectly ok.
Again, the Apollo is a great product!!!

33vriem33 mastering with UA Apollo
Dear All,
As a sound freak for long, I was looking for a solid enhancement for my DAW (Logic Audio) for both recording/monitoring and mastering.
I use dozens of analogue as well as digital gears, and I want to hear it pure, uncompressed and unspoiled.
That's what UA Apollo gives me: clarity and a perfect match to what I'm expecting for long.

Just amazing...
Upgrade from Focusrite Saffire pro to Apogee duet and then to Apollo duo. The clarity and quality of this interface is astounding. Clean and transparent. The UAD plugins that come with it are incredible. Easy to use, stable and no problems at all. I ask a question to support and they reply very quickly. Get one if you can...

I thought something was wrong with my ears before this purchase!
I'll keep this short and simple, this unit has given me a new respect for the importance of high end converters! I always had a problem in the past with my previos interface with the playback always sounding filmy and dark, but with the Apollo Quad, I can finally hear every subtle nuance and detail as if i were in the room with the source. Keep up the great and innovative work guys!

Apollo taking my songs to a new level.
Without question, UA has nailed it with the plug-ins and preamps found in Apollo. The only thing preventing me from giving this 5 stars is occasionally I'll experience interfacing problems between Apollo and my DAW (no signal to the DAW, etc). Short of these sporadic glitches, Apollo has taken my recordings to a new level.

A to B Test UA Apollo vs Apogee Symphony
Before I purchased the UA Apollo I had the privilege to A B both units and I got to say I cannot be more than happy with my UA Apollo I'm coming from an Mbox 3 pro and believe me if your an engineer you can get great sound out of any piece of gear, But my UA Apollo hands down has to be the best interface I've ever worked with, the sound I manage to get out of the UA Apollo is truly 100% Professional High end Studio Quality "Believe The Hype" (Remember when your buying gear don't go by other people's threads and posts). Universal Audio Nailed it with this one. Two Thumbs up to!!
