Apollo - The Best Audio Interface!
I spent months researching audio interfaces & after serious consideration I practically rebuilt my Mac Pro, maxed out memory, new FW800 card, swapped all drives for solid state, in preparation for buying the Apollo Quad & I can assure you it was worth it.
The Console app is awesome, especially now it has Flex routing. Logic is my DAW & I've used it for almost a decade - but I don't use it's plugs - Universal Audio's are simply the best.
For clarity, simplicity & sonic satisfaction it's mind blowing how great the Apollo is. Buy It.

It make´s me happy!
It´s very easy to work with, sounds very good- clear. open, warm and seems reliable so far! Quite expensive but it`s worth it.

Simply beautiful!
I have been fighting with latency on my previous USB audio interfaces since I sold my big ProTools HD rig just before it's price dropped dramatically on Ebay a few years back. My Mac was fast enough to handle the track count I needed, so I switched from ProTools HD PCI cards and tried interfaces from RME, Naitve Instruments and Apogee with quite good results - except for the latency when recording my acoustic and electric guitars. When I connected the UA Apollo via Thunderbolt, my reaction was "Wow!". Not only could I for the first time record with absolutely no latency at all, but the audio quality was so much better! The fact that I can use all those great audio plugins from UA both in the Apollo and inside my DAW's, is simply beautiful!

Apollo, too cool
What's not to love?
My new Apollo helped me streamline my home set up by replacing 3 different items I had been using.
I was pleasantly surprised by the conversion quality, the clarity and focus of the monitor path, and sound of the mic pre's.
The Console software is intuitive and powerful, flex routing is brilliant.
And to top it off, the ability to monitor inputs through (and/or print) UA plug ins, just too cool.
Big win in my book, thanks UA, job well done.

A dream comes true.
The Apollo is amazingly well built, very logically laid out and functions very well.
The ability to monitor with the plug-ins or record using the plug-ins is a dream come
true. The console software is well thought out, although it would be nice to roll
the functions of the UAD Meter software into the Console software.
I have had partial issues with my DAWs not "catching" the Apollo and while it
was a simple matter to launch the console and have the DAWs "found" the
plug-ins, and perhaps with future updates of the DAWs and or the UAD-2 software,
this issue will be addressed. It is not a frequent issue. The audio quality is excellent.
The unit is dead quiet and no frequencies are hyped, so it has a very clean, clear
neutral sound. Great.

Very pleased! - (Apollo Duo)
This is our first real interface (coming from the ~$400 mbox).
It sounds great. Decent amount of I/O. The preamps can hold their own as my additional 4-8 to back up my first 4 on my lunchbox. Conversion sounds clean. I will say that the biggest and best surprise is the UAD plugins, which were part of the reason I went with UA for the interface. The plugins sound great, especially the mixing/mastering ones. I only gave it four stars because (and this may be my issue for not getting the QUAD) but I run out of DSP relatively fast if I'm using a lot of plugins. I can always bounce tracks or step up and get a UAD satellite or (wait for it....) daisy chain another Apollo when I need more inputs.
Highly recommend it!

im loving the apollo its the best piece of gear i own my only concern is when the firewire of the apollo is connected to my mac the mac wont restart or shutdown properly

Great Concept but VERY BUGGY
i recently purchased a UAD card with many plugins so Apollo made sense for me, however ive been very annoyed by all the problems it has with Firewire. Even after dealing with tech support, not a session goes by when it deauthorizes plugins i purchased either on my PCI card or the apollo. Hopefully, tech support will help me?? But after doing research on this its a common issue....

Working Hip Hop on Apollo Duo.
Buying Apollo Duo + Duo Satellite was a meditated election, after comparing hardware features as AD/DA Converters and plugins quality, it' was obvious that's searching a old smooth vintage sound working on a digital studio, UAudio was the only election.
After all the studio is installed and my first 2 weeks of works i can easily say that i'm in love with the Apollo sound definition, and the incredible sound of the plugins like R88, Studer800, Presicion limiter or Space eco.
In addition, i want to make a special mention for the online help of UAudio, as is well known a studio installation can be a real brain-twix, but UAudio online help and videos are just wonderful.
I 100% recommend this Apollo.

iLove The Apollo
iWanted an interface that could deliver the sound I've been working hard to achieve for years, rich, clear, honest quality recordings with hassle free zero latency, and iFailed - miserably, right up until the day iReceived the Apollo. Now, instead of dreaming about the sound iWant, iDream about the sound iMake. Thank You Universal Audio ?

From Motu to Apollo
I have been a Digital Performer and Motu hardware user for 8 years. Motu are making solid products.
In April last year I run into a promotion by UA for the Apollo hardware plus $1000 plug-ins. I decided to take my chance and move into the UA platform.
I have to say that sound quality is absolutely a giant step forward.
The pros:
1. Great preamps.
2. Great plug ins.
3. Free plug ins....Stuter, SR88, Lexicon, Pultec Pro, Little labs voice of god.
The cons:
1. Some firewire issues when running plug ins at times.
2. bandwidth adjustment can be tricky.
3. no MIDI
4. Some instability of the audio hardware to drop once and a while when a session is loading. Again I am not sure if this is something to do more with my studio setup or not.
Update pls

Apollo QUAD Review
Overall, an amazing product!
Being able to record with the plugins on the way in is pretty much the same as having "virtual outboard"! It has allowed me to hone in on getting the sound at the source which has improved my mixes a lot!
I give it 4 out of 5 stars.
Minus one star due to its high price. I reckon that for its price it should include a couple more plugins. The "analog classics" bundle contains older versions of UAs LA2A and 1176 models, which was disappointing as there are newer version available on the plugin store.
If you arent looking to record with the plugins on the way in, then I think you may be missing the point of the Apollo and you may be better suited with a different interface and a UAD card.
Overall, Im happy
